Research one law, policy or regulation that directly relates to young children, their families or those that educate them.

Have you ever stopped to consider how many laws, health codes, regulations and other policies are in place to help protect young children, families and even teachers? We may not even recognize some of the laws or policies that are in place today were developed to protect or help our most vulnerable members of society, including their parents and teachers.
Your assignment for this research paper is the following:
1. Research one law, policy or regulation that directly relates to young children, their families or those that educate them. These may include health codes, motor vehicle laws, licensing of child care facilities, school lunch/breakfast policies to name only a few sources where these are found. There are many, many more.
2. Your paper will briefly explain the law, policy or regulation in terms that the lay person can understand.
3. Give a brief history or account of why the law, policy or regulation was passed or put in place.
4. Describe how the law, etc., affects children, their families or educators. It does not have to affect all three categories.
5. Give an evaluation of the law and its’ effectiveness. Be sure to support your position.
6. At the end of the paper briefly write about what you learned from this experience and how it has affected you in terms of your understanding of the law and your future endeavors professionally.
