This paper aims to analyze technology use in early childhood education using the classic ethical theories of deontology and utilitarianism. I will also peer into this topic from a relativist perspective to show the benefits of its rise in educating children ages three to eight years old. Utilitarianism states technology must produce the best possible outcome for the greatest number of children that use it. Early childhood educators must use developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) to teach. Deontology states that we must abide by this DAP to ensure children develop to their maximum potential while utilizing technology. Relativism will allow us to value the use of technology based on American culture and teaching young children.
